DIAGNOSTICS
The Diagnostic Laboratory is a service unit in the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) and the wider community. The lab performs routine diagnostic testing on thousands of samples annually. Testing is performed on the following species but is not limited to companion animals, exotic, aquatic, and large animals. The Diagnostic Laboratory is a member of the Veterinary Laboratory Association Quality Assurance Program (VLAQAP) and participates in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) quality assurance program.
Available Testing
Bacteriology & Mycology
Isolation and identification of disease-causing bacteria and fungi and susceptibility testing. The Microbiology staff can perform a variety of cultures as well as susceptibility assay testing using host and pathogen-specific minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) susceptibility panels.
Clinical Pathology
Our Clinical Pathology services offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic testing, utilizing advanced techniques and instruments such as the Zoetis Vetscan HM5, VS2, and IDEXX Catalyst Dx to ensure accurate and reliable results.
